Diddy could lose his Miami mansion if he is convicted in a sex crimes case.

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ residence on Star Island in Miami is now embroiled in a federal investigation. This incident, which occurred in March 2024, involved agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) targeting the property amid rumors of illegal activities, including the discovery of weapons and drugs during their search.

On September 17, Diddy was officially charged with multiple crimes, including racketeering conspiracy, coercive sex trafficking, and facilitating prostitution. If convicted, he could face a minimum sentence of 15 years, with the possibility of life imprisonment. He continues to assert his innocence.

Legal analysts have pointed out that a guilty verdict on the RICO charges could lead to the loss of his assets. For instance, attorney Cathy’s mother’s testimony could be especially detrimental to Diddy’s case, as experts suggest it may highlight the severity of the charges against him.

Diddy, who has settled his mortgage, still faces the potential seizure of his home, according to the government. Attorney Phil Harvey explained that proving the case against him involves two main factors: the conviction of those RICO charges, and whether the property in question is connected to the alleged criminal enterprise operated through his music business.

Furthermore, HSI Special Agent Gerald Ganon testified about the March 25 raid, detailing how law enforcement recovered a semi-automatic rifle as well as other items during a meticulous search that involved a significant number of officers due to the estate’s size and security features. The search began at 3:30 PM, which is unusual, but they waited for Diddy since he was abroad at the time.

Evidence included photographs of various items found at the mansion, hinting at more than just illicit weapons—adult toys and lingerie also appeared, raising eyebrows about the kind of activities that may have taken place there. Interestingly, it was noted that the serial number on the weapon had been removed.

Despite the gravity of the situation, some legal experts, like Brian Puckett, suggested that it’s not guaranteed the government would seize Diddy’s home, even if he is convicted. He noted that properties typically aren’t confiscated unless there’s a clear link between the asset purchase and the alleged criminal activities.

John J. Perstein added that while seizing the property remains a possibility, Diddy could leverage certain legal protections, like those that were previously utilized in high-profile cases such as O.J. Simpson’s, which allowed him to retain his Florida home despite legal troubles.
