Sean “Diddy” Combs' rise to fame, first in the hip-hop community and then as a globally recognized music mogul, is explored in a new documentary.
Born and raised in New York, Diddy's colorful past was revealed through a story told by his childhood friend and former employee, singer Al B. Schur. He has a son with Diddy's late ex-girlfriend Kim Porter.

Patterson said he protected Diddy from bullies and that the two regularly attended parties at his childhood home, where he was exposed to alcohol and marijuana from an early age.
“He was around all kinds of alcohol. He was around reefer smoke,” Patterson said. “He was around drug addicts, lesbians, homosexuals. He was around pimps and prostitutes. That's exactly who we had at home.”
