Trial Update: Diddy’s Former Assistant Testifies
Brendan Paul, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ex-assistant, took the stand on Friday to discuss alarming conditions he experienced while working for the rapper. He began his role in late 2022 and continued until March 2024, as part of a human trafficking investigation involving Combs’ residences in Los Angeles and Miami.
Paul, who previously played basketball at Syracuse, described how Combs expected employees to operate like “Seal Team 6,” emphasizing the need to ensure the rapper’s happiness at all times. He mentioned that he often found himself awake for extended periods, using Adderall and cocaine during this time.
It seems that Paul was one of the key figures providing testimony in exchange for immunity in a federal sex trafficking and assault case against Combs. He informed U.S. Attorney’s Office representative Christine Slavik that Christina “KK” Column, Combs’ former chief of staff, was essentially overseeing operations. Paul recalled that he initially handled small tasks for Combs before becoming more deeply involved.
Throughout the trial’s proceedings, particularly on what was the 27th day of the hearings, Paul detailed his experiences, including buying drugs for Combs. He admitted to purchasing large amounts of marijuana, as well as other substances like ecstasy and cocaine, for the rapper.
Paul’s involvement in the legal troubles reportedly escalated when he was named in a lawsuit filed by Rodney “Lilrod” Jones, who accused Combs of serious misconduct. Paul faced felony possession charges stemming from this situation.
As the trial approached the six-week mark, prosecutors indicated they expected to rest their case soon. Meanwhile, Combs’ defense team mentioned that they would likely need several days to present their arguments. The charges against him include conspiracy to commit assault and sex trafficking.
