On the opening day of the highly publicized trial for Sean “Diddy” Combs, a male escort took the stand, alleging that he was compensated to engage in sexual activities with Combs’ girlfriend while Combs himself watched and masturbated.
The federal proceedings commenced on Monday in U.S. District Court located in lower Manhattan. Combs faces serious allegations of running a sex trafficking ring and hosting extravagant, drug-infused parties, where he reportedly threatened women and warned against notifying authorities.
The first witness, identified as Daniel Phillip, disclosed that during a sexual encounter with Combs’ girlfriend Cassie Ventura, he was paid significant sums to apply baby oil on her while Combs observed from a corner of the room. Phillip recalled that their initial meeting took place in 2012 at the Gramercy Park Hotel, claiming he was paid “thousands of dollars” for this service, while Combs looked on wearing a white robe and a bandana covering his face.
“She [Cassie Ventura] first reassured me that I didn’t have to worry because my husband wasn’t gay and wouldn’t harm me,” Phillip recounted from that encounter.
He went on to share some of the remarks Combs allegedly made during the incident.
“You need to put more baby oil on each other. You’re not applying enough,” is what Combs purportedly told him at the time.
Phillip mentioned that he could earn up to $6,000 per session. He described Combs’ presence as somewhat paradoxical, saying, “He was often just sitting in the corner, sometimes trying to engage, so he’d instruct me to go down and retreat and I’d end up just watching.”
Furthermore, Phillip disclosed that he had witnessed instances of Combs physically attacking Ventura. Despite these observations, he refrained from alerting authorities due to fears over potential retribution from Combs and the illegality of his own profession.
“This was someone with immense power. Even if I reported him, I might end up jeopardizing my life,” he stated.
In one troubling incident, Phillip described Combs throwing an object, which resembled a liquor bottle, at Ventura during a moment of frustration when she hadn’t moved quickly enough for him.
“Mr. Combs approached Cassie, grabbed her by the hair, and started pulling her into the bedroom. She was screaming,” he detailed.
Another alarming allegation emerged, with Phillip indicating that Ventura had requested him to urinate on her as part of a domination scenario. He stated, “Kathy actually asked me to do it,” despite having no prior experience with such requests.
“They told me I was supposed to go out a little and not directly at her, which I guess I misunderstood,” he added.
As the trial progressed, prosecutors introduced claims that Combs recorded sexual activities to use as leverage against Ventura and others involved. Ventura reportedly met Combs when she was just 19 years old, seeking connections in her budding music career. However, some maintain that she was completely aware of her decisions and could have ended the relationship whenever she chose.
