Disney Modifies Benefit for Visa Card Holders at Disneyland

Changes to Disneyland Visa Card Member Benefits

If you’re a guest at Disneyland and you have a Disney Visa credit card, you’re used to enjoying some special perks during your visits. However, things have recently shifted a bit with Disneyland’s strategic adjustments.

In a notable update, Disneyland has replaced some traditional benefits for Disney Visa Cardholders with a new offering. Here’s how you can access this benefit and how it ties into Disneyland’s overall plans. The updates also come amidst some ongoing changes at Disneyland, such as the permanent closure of certain restaurants and various policy adaptations that seem to be sparking discussion among guests.

What’s New for Disney Visa Card Members?

Disney Visa Card members previously enjoyed exclusive meetings with specific characters, and for quite a stretch, it was all about meeting Darth Vader inside the Star Wars Launch Bay. But that’s now changing.

Starting on April 29, 2026, Kylo Ren will be taking over the character meeting slot that was once held by Darth Vader. This change still allows cardholders to meet the famed character in the same location, near Autopia. Just keep an eye out for signage at the Launch Bay.

Kylo Ren will be available for meet-and-greets daily from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, although, naturally, this schedule is subject to adjustments. For those who aren’t cardholders, you can still catch Kylo, but the timings will differ, so checking the Disneyland app on the day of your visit is a good idea.

A new Visa option, the Disney Inspire Visa Card, was introduced earlier this year, signaling some fresh changes in how Disney manages its Visa offerings.

Focus Shift in Star Wars Character Interactions

This move to have Kylo Ren in the Launch Bay is part of a broader strategy regarding Disneyland’s portrayal of Star Wars characters. On the same day Kylo made his debut there, Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge expanded its storyline to incorporate live appearances by iconic characters from the original trilogy, like Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa.

Previously, Galaxy’s Edge primarily spotlighted the sequel trilogy, making Kylo the main villain. Now that Darth Vader is becoming a part of the Galaxy’s Edge experience, Disney made the decision to transition Kylo Ren to Tomorrowland’s Launch Bay.

Meanwhile, Kylo remains central to the storyline of the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ride, and Rey, his rival in the sequel trilogy, continues to be featured in Galaxy’s Edge.

Moreover, on May 22, fans can expect to see The Mandalorian and Grogu make their permanent arrival in the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run storyline, further enriching the Galaxy’s Edge narrative.
