Disney announced on Tuesday that it will increase streaming prices in the U.S. for all its standalone services, Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+, later this fall.
in releaseThe Walt Disney Company announced that the new pricing will take effect on October 17th and will apply to both ad-supported and ad-free plans.
Disney+ with ads will increase in price by $2 per month to $9.99, while the ad-free version will also increase in price by $2 to $15.99.
Hulu with ads will also increase by $2 per month to $9.99, while the ad-free version will go for $18.99, and ESPN+ will increase by $1 to $11.99.
The Disney Bundle Duo Basic, which includes Disney+ and Hulu ads, is currently $9.99 per month and will increase by $1 in October, while the ad-free premium version will cost $19.99 per month and will remain the same price.
The ad-supported Hulu + Live TV plan, currently $76.99, will increase to $82.99, while the ad-free plan will go from $89.99 to $95.99.
The company also announced that ahead of this year’s election, all Disney+ subscribers will be given access to ABC News Live, a 24/7 streaming news channel with “live news, breaking news, live events and in-depth special reports.”
Subscribers will also have access to more playlists: ABC News Live and a playlist for preschoolers will be available on Sept. 4. Four more playlists will be available in the fall, titled “Seasonal Content,” “Epic Stories,” “Nostalgic Memories” and “Real Life.”
“With this expanding offering and new ways to enjoy your favorite Disney+ content, Disney’s subscription plans remain one of the best values in streaming today,” the company’s announcement said.
Earlier this year, Hulu and Disney+ began cracking down on password sharing after Netflix had success with the same idea.
Disney+ prices increased in 2022 and 2023. Hulu prices also increased in 2022.
