The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has rolled out digital advertisements targeting numerous Republican-held House districts, demanding the release of documents connected to financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
One ad highlights Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who describes the matter as involving “serious issues,” claiming that the highest volume of calls to her office pertains to the Epstein Files. Another tagline emphasizes that “The Republicans of the house have closed Congress to conceal the truth.”
A clip featuring President Trump alongside Epstein plays in the background of the ad.
Both ads urge viewers to contact their representatives and push for the release of the Epstein files.
This effort has gained traction, encouraging votes among Democrats and some Republicans to make the documents related to a lawsuit against the Trump administration available to Congress. However, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) announced an earlier start to the summer recess after Democrats tried to trigger votes within the Rules Committee to divide Republicans and release the files.
Democrats have accused Republicans of shielding pedophiles, using the ongoing controversy to target Trump and the GOP. Interest in the Epstein Files has surged nationally following claims from Justice Department memos stating that they lack a “client list” for Epstein and will not release further documents to protect potential victims.
Trump has voiced his frustration with the persistent focus on Epstein, urging people to move past it. However, the Wall Street Journal noted that Attorney General Pam Bondy informed Trump that his name appeared in the files, adding another layer to the controversy. Notably, the mere presence of names in documents does not indicate wrongdoing.
Democrats have seized this as an opportunity to continue their critiques and highlight the ongoing situation.
“Democrats will be held responsible for not disclosing Epstein’s files in real time and for enabling a cover-up within Congress regarding the Trump administration and Republicans,” said Tim Hogan, a senior advisor at the DNC. “The American public deserves complete transparency, and Donald Trump, along with his followers, has been twisting the truth.”
