DNC Manager Asserts ‘Weirdly Unpopular’ Kamala Harris Cannot Win in 2024

Joyce DeCelles, a Harris campaign aide and compliance manager for the Democratic National Committee (DNC), believes Vice President Kamala Harris “can’t win this year,” according to a video released by James O’Keefe. Daily Mail show.

The video weakens party unity at the Democratic National Convention after Vice President Kamala Harris was crowned by the party without receiving a single vote in the primary.

“I like Kamala Harris, but I don’t think she’s going to win this year,” DeCelles says in the video. To tell “She’s strangely unpopular,” he told reporters.

“It’s easy to attack the vice president, right? As vice president, he has no notable accomplishments. He doesn’t write laws,” DeSers acknowledges in the video.

The concerns may be well-founded: statistician Nate Silver’s model showed former President Donald Trump was widely expected to win against Harris, Breitbart News’ Matthew Boyle reported on Tuesday.

Statistician Nate Silver’s model, which combines polls and other data to predict which candidate will win the November presidential election, kicks off the new Trump-Harris campaign with a strong prediction of a Trump victory. Trump is projected to have a 61.3% chance of winning, while Harris has only a 38.1% chance of winning. That means Trump has more than a 3 in 5 chance of winning, and Harris has less than a 2 in 5 chance of winning. That’s terrible news for desperate Democrats who were hoping that a change in their top candidate could dramatically change the trajectory of the campaign.

Incidentally, as Silver points out, his predictions line up very well with prediction markets, where people literally bet real money on what the outcome will be.

Silver paused his model when Democrat President Joe Biden dropped out of the race a little over a week ago, giving him time to gather fresh data on the new Trump-Harris matchup. His previous model had Trump trailing Biden by a wide margin, but Biden’s chances of winning were well below 30%. Harris has improved on the worst case scenario before Biden dropped out, but she has not materially changed the course of this race, and it is clear that Trump remains favored.

The video continues to show Dessart claiming that Harris was attacked with “racist and sexist nonsense” – things she “wouldn’t say to a man.”

DeSers made his remarks with his sole responsibility for fundraising for the DNC in mind: “The ultimate goal of my job is to report to the government how much money the DNC raises and where it’s spending that money,” he says in the video.

When a reporter asked how the DNC secures donations, DeSers replied, “We kind of tell donors what they want to hear.”

“Do you think our strategy has always been to just take their money and tell them what they want to hear?” another reporter asked.

“Yes, that’s politics,” he concluded.
