‘Do You Not Already Feel Like Donald Trump Is the President?’

As the United States approaches the end of the Biden administration, President-elect Donald Trump is taking on a more important role than his predecessor during the transition.

According to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Trump is the “first de facto president” in American history.

Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) says she feels the same way. In an interview aired Friday on Radio FM Talk 106.5 in Mobile, AL, Britt addressed President Trump's rise heading into the inauguration and the decline of outgoing President Joe Biden.

“Oh my god, don't you feel like Donald Trump is now president? Because I am,” she said. “So it feels like he's already president. You know, there's Joe Biden over there wondering if he's going to take a 'end-of-administration' photo of the White House staff.” And at the opening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, President Trump appeared like a head of state. You're letting him make these decisions and policy changes in front of the American people. So, Joe Biden, the best thing he can do is just – I don't know, maybe drink some eggnog and enjoy the White House Christmas tree lights. But other than that, that's it. ”

“It's embarrassing to see this administration continue to try to reinvent its legacy in recent weeks,” Britt added. “So we have to make sure that people continue to understand what the last four years have been like under the Biden-Harris administration, and they will continue to understand that their borders are We know it's not safe. They're seeing people die from fentanyl.”
