Highly touted 2024 NFL Draft prospect Jaden Daniels’ inflamed elbow in his throwing arm appears to be nothing to worry about.
This week, a photo went viral showing Daniels with a lump the size of a golf ball hanging off his right elbow.
The Post asked Dr. Rais M. Jazrawi, director of sports medicine at New York University Langone Orthopedics, for his opinion on what’s going on with the 23-year-old’s elbow and what it means.
“He has olecranon bursitis,” Dr. Jazrawi believes.
Doctors described the symptoms as swelling and “sometimes pain, sometimes no pain.”
How can I solve this problem?
“You can get a cortisone injection or have the bursa surgically removed,” Dr. Jazrawi said.
“The downtime for these surgeries is two to three weeks for bursectomy, but they are usually not very painful and can be continued throughout the season.”
He couldn’t recall a situation like this that would cause lasting problems for an athlete.
“It’s surgically corrected. It’s not a reconstruction or a ligament repair,” Dr. Jazrawi continued.

“You don’t have to wait for healing time. It’s really, once you take it out, you’re fine. And for some people, including maybe Daniels, they don’t even feel the pain in the first place. He’s pretty good Looks like he made a play.”
Daniels threw for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns and just four interceptions for LSU last season, winning the Heisman Trophy for his efforts.
He is likely to be a top-three pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, possibly as high as No. 2 overall, with Drake Maye being another possibility.
Caleb Williams is currently expected to go No. 1 overall to the Bears, but there’s still a month left to see if anything changes higher up the draft board.
