White House Confirms Trump’s Health Status After MRI
On Monday, the White House shared details about an MRI scan that President Trump had, following a period of media speculation. They stated that the 79-year-old is in “overall excellent health.”
Dr. Sean Barbavera, the presidential physician, explained in a memo that the test conducted in October was routine and the results were “totally normal.”
“This imaging test was part of President Donald J. Trump’s extensive executive physical exam, given that men his age should undergo comprehensive evaluations of their cardiovascular and abdominal health,” Barbavera noted.
The purpose, as the doctor explained, is preventive—not just to catch any issues early, but also to affirm overall wellness and maintain long-term vitality. The imaging of Trump’s cardiovascular system showed no abnormalities.
Barbavera stated, “There’s no indication that narrowed arteries are affecting blood flow or that any issues exist with the heart or major blood vessels. His heart chambers are normal in size, the walls of his blood vessels look smooth and healthy, and there are no signs of inflammation or clotting. Essentially, his cardiovascular system is very healthy.”
Trump had previously disclosed on Oct. 27 that he underwent an MRI on Oct. 10 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, describing the procedure as “perfect,” which led to a flurry of follow-up questions from reporters.
The initial report from the White House’s annual physical exam didn’t include details about the MRI.
“All major organs are functioning well, and there are no immediate or lasting concerns. To summarize: This thorough evaluation is typical for executive physicals for someone of President Trump’s age and confirms that he is in excellent overall health.”
Earlier, the White House had mentioned that Trump experienced “mild swelling in his lower extremities” and had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a circulation issue.
Experts note that this condition is generally managed through the use of compression stockings to avoid blood clots. Additionally, Trump’s hands have shown signs of repeated bruising, attributed to aspirin use for heart health and frequent handshakes.
