President Trump Declared in Excellent Health
U.S. Navy Captain and Presidential Physician Sean Barbavera announced that President Donald Trump is “in excellent health” and capable of continuing his role as President after a recent medical check-up at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
The White House shared Barbavera’s letter last Friday evening.
According to the captain’s summary, “President Trump is in good health, with findings indicating that his heart, lungs, nerves, and overall bodily functions are operating well.” He emphasized that the president’s active daily routine—comprising numerous high-profile meetings and physical activities—contributes positively to his overall well-being. Barbavera also mentioned that Trump’s cognitive and physical capabilities are excellent, making him fit for all the responsibilities of Commander-in-Chief.
During the examination, President Trump had a coronary CT angiogram, which showed no blockages, alongside an electrocardiogram and echocardiogram.
The coronary CT angiography results demonstrated no arterial blockages or structural issues with the heart or major blood vessels. Additionally, the electrocardiogram analysis suggested that Trump’s heart age is roughly 14 years younger than his actual age, a recognized measure of heart health. An echocardiogram also showed normal conditions, with heart chambers and valves functioning well, and the ejection fraction was preserved. Overall, his cardiac assessments showed normal functions, and blood circulation to his extremities was also typical.
Barbavera noted that tests on other areas of Trump’s body yielded normal outcomes, with a reduction in leg swelling compared to the previous year.
- Eyes: Visual acuity and other measurements were normal, with a normal dilated fundus exam.
- Head/Ears/Nose/Throat: Generally normal findings, except for some scarring on the right ear from a past gunshot wound. Hearing remains normal, and dental health is good.
- Neck: Thyroid and lymph nodes were normal, and carotid ultrasound results were also normal.
- Lungs: Clear upon examination; thoracic imaging showed no abnormalities.
- Heart: No arterial issues noted, and all cardiac functions were normal with the heart showing healthy metrics.
- Gastrointestinal/Abdominal: The abdominal examination appeared normal.
- Genitourinary: Results were normal.
- Limbs/musculoskeletal system: Mild swelling in the lower limbs has improved since last year.
- Neurological Examination: A thorough exam indicated normal mental state, intact cranial nerves, and good motor function along with balance.
A skin examination revealed some bruising on his hands, attributed to frequent handshakes, alongside aspirin usage for heart health. Besides aspirin, the president also takes cholesterol medications such as rosuvastatin and ezetimibe. Notably, Trump achieved a perfect score of 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Ability Assessment.
