Secrets of Bohemian Grove Revealed
Recently, it came to light that the billionaire owner of the San Francisco Giants, along with his son and several high-profile executives, participated in a clandestine gathering at Bohemian Grove, a men-only club.
The club’s somewhat elusive membership had remained under wraps until a searchable list was leaked to the public, stirring various conspiracy theories linked to its founding in 1872. It’s often believed that the membership includes a cross-section of influential figures from the political and business realms.
Alongside high-profile names like late-night talk show host Conan O’Brien, billionaire Michael Bloomberg, and Eric Schmidt, the former CEO of Google, the membership list has raised eyebrows about who exactly is involved.
This leaked document, confirmed by the California Post, revealed around 2,000 members and their associated camps who gathered in Monte Rio, not too far from San Francisco, in 2023.
Among those listed were Giants owner Charles B. Johnson, whose net worth is reported at $6.1 billion, and his son, Greg, who serves as the team’s president. They were among the 42 participants at the Mandalay camp that year.
Interestingly, Charles Johnson’s younger brother, Rupert Johnson Jr., who is worth about $4.8 billion, was also spotted at one of these camps.
Additionally, it was noted that John Fisher, the owner of the A’s and San Jose Earthquakes, was reportedly present at the gathering, alongside billionaire Charles Koch, as indicated by an attendee list.
Jed York, affiliated with the 49ers’ ownership, was mentioned as well, though he is not the primary owner. Byron Dieter also appeared on the list for the Haven camp, despite having acquired the team only last May.
It’s not particularly shocking that a Bay Area sports team owner would be part of the Bohemian Club. The organization has historically been linked to the region’s influential figures, encompassing a variety of personalities from different industries beyond sports.
The annual summer retreat is known for hosting peculiar rituals, and in a recent mini-documentary, journalist Bogslow pointed out that the club played a crucial role in establishing an agreement during Ronald Reagan’s presidency that reduced capital gains taxes and altered Social Security.
There are even whispers that discussions about the Manhattan Project first took place at this camp. With several U.S. presidents among its past members, it’s rumored that Richard Nixon kicked off his 1968 presidential campaign from here.
