The Dodgers made a late move to acquire one of the top pitchers on the market.
Los Angeles is acquiring starting pitcher Jack Flaherty from the Tigers, Jon Heyman of The Washington Post has confirmed.
Catcher/first baseman Cearon Liranzo and shortstop Trey Sweeney are returning to Detroit.
Flaherty, 28, is enjoying a bounce-back season with the Tigers, posting a 2.95 ERA with 133 strikeouts in 106 2/3 innings.
He signed a one-year, $14 million contract with Detroit during the offseason after posting a 4.99 ERA with the Cardinals and Orioles last year.

Flaherty was traded from St. Louis to Baltimore at the deadline last season and struggled with a 6.75 ERA in nine games (seven starts).
His best season came in 2019 with the Cardinals, when he posted a 2.75 ERA and 231 strikeouts in 196 1/3 innings.
