DOE launches Title IX investigation into Maine after Trump, governor’s clash over trans athletes

US Department of Education We have launched a Title IX investigation into Maine's DOE and state school districts as they allegedly ignored President Donald Trump's executive orders on transgender athletes in women's and women's sports.

Maine is joining California and Minnesota as states that are allegedly allowing biological men to compete with biological women.

“Today, the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights (OCR) announced to Maine Department of Education's Pendermakin that the OCR has launched an orderly investigation of the Maine Department of Education (MDOE). “The law is that male athletes compete in girls' innovative athletics, and that female athletes deny women's intimate facilities and thereby violate federal anti-discrimination,” USDOE said. He said in a press release on Friday.

“The letter also informs the MDOE that OCR is beginning an investigation into Maine's School Management District #51 (MSAD #51) and compete in the girls category.”

Trump and Maine Gov. Janet Mills clashed with a transgender woman in sports on Friday. “See you in court,” he replied.

“I'm complying with state and federal laws,” Mills said before Trump said, “Well, we're federal laws,” and “You better do that, you better do that.” That's fine. If you don't, federal funds.

Trump vows to cut off federal funds to Maine by refusing to adhere to the “no man in women's sports” order

Mills issued a statement Friday saying, “Maine will not be threatened by the president's threat.”

Trump vowed Thursday not to give Maine federal money if the state continues to allow biological men to compete in athletics for girls and women.

“They still say, “I want men to play women's sports.” And I can't believe they are doing that. I'll clean it up,” Trump said.

The deputy vice-secretary of civil rights trainers added as part of the DOE announcement: Athletes compete with women and girls. Female athletes also do all of their powers to ensure taxpayers don't fund explicit civil rights violators. ”

The USDOE is also investigating San Jose, UPenn and Massachusetts High Schools. Transathletes Blair Fleming and Leah Thomas appeared at SJSU and Ivy League Schools, respectively, and Thomas won the NCAA Division I title in 2022.

Trump signed an executive order on February 5th “Turning Men out of Women's Sports.”
