Dog rescued after getting stranded on roof of Mass. home ‘He has a mind of his own’

This dog wanted a bird's eye view.

A mischievous mutt named Rocky was rescued after getting stuck on the roof of his owner's home in Massachusetts.

The puppy apparently stuck its nose out of a cracked window on the upper floor of Revere's house and then climbed onto the roof with no idea how to get back inside. NBC Boston reported.

A passing good Samaritan, accompanied by an animal control officer, climbed the fire escape and grabbed Rocky, then waited in nearby Winthrop for the dog's owner to return from work.

When Rocky's owner, Juliana, returned, they were able to push out the air conditioner and bring the dog back inside.

“He has his own ideas,” Yuliana told the magazine. “The window was slightly open and he came out. Thank God we have some really good people here in Revere who help us with the dogs.”

Yuliana was at work when she received a call from her mother saying that her 7-year-old dog, Rocky, was on the roof.

“She was getting calls from the school right across the street from where we live. They called the police,” she said.

Animal control arrived within minutes.

We managed to get the dog to a safe position through the window and things are going well,” said Revere Animal Control Officer Anthony Masiello.

“It was just a coincidence. The dog wanted to go for a walk,” he said.

“He's a very good dog, a very friendly dog,” Masiello added. “I’m glad it worked and he didn’t jump.
