A New York City couple out walking their dog Wednesday afternoon turned the tables on a would-be robber who had to be treated for stab wounds at the hospital, video showed.
The 37-year-old suspect sneaked up behind the couple in the Woodside neighborhood of Queens around 2:40 p.m.
The apparent targets were a woman with a dog leash and a man on a scooter with his feet in medical boots. Police had not identified them as of Thursday.
Surveillance video obtained by Fox News Digital shows the attacker sneaking up behind them as they walk down the sidewalk.

When the man approached, he threw his jacket on the ground and shoved him from behind.

The male victim fought back, knocked the assailant to the pavement and began punching him.

As the beatdown continued, a woman joined in and kicked the attacker in the back.
They argued until the robber managed to get to his feet and back away.
“During the altercation, one of the unknown individuals stabbed the body multiple times in the area surrounding the body,” police told Fox News Digital.

The man with the leg injury had the upper hand throughout the brawl, but is seen limping with his injured leg and appears ready for more.

The video shows a large splotch of what appears to be blood on the back of the assailant’s bleached blonde head.
Two men eventually cut their way between the mob, and the assailants eventually disappeared from view, leaving their hats and jackets on the ground.

Police said a 37-year-old man was taken to New York City Health Hospital/Elmhurst in serious but stable condition.
No arrests had been made as of Thursday morning, but the investigation was continuing.
