DOGE Discovers $4.7T of Treasury Payments ‘Almost Impossible’ to Trace

The Treasury has sent out a $4.7 trillion payment without an identification code linking the Treasury payment to a budget item, and Doge announced Monday, making the payment “nearly impossible.”

Doge said the TAS's identification payment code, called TAS, is needed as of Saturday to increase “insight into where money is actually heading.”

“Thank you to @Ustreasury for doing a great job,” Doge posted to X:

Fox News It has been reported Regarding the importance of TAS payment codes:

According to the Department of Finance Services, which is under the Ministry of Finance, the TAS code describes one of the account identification codes assigned by the Ministry of Finance, also known as “accounts.”

All financial transactions made by the federal government are classified by TAS when reporting to the Department of Treasury and the Office of Control and Budget (OMB).

The finding was announced the same day when Doge appeared to embed the Doge.gov Savings page. This said Monday evening that the total savings since the division was established totaled around $55 billion.

“A significant improvement in financial payment integrity live!” Elon Musk posted on X. Everyone's a good job. ”

The absence of the code was discovered during the Treasury DOGE audit and was reduced by finding waste, fraud and abuse.

Democrats are opposed to audits because Doge, a division within the federal government, should not have access to sensitive taxpayer data. The attorney general of 14 states appealed to Doge to block access to data, claiming excessive enforcement.

“This isn't a few roving bands…it's systematic and will bring about great savings,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent said of Doge's audit in an interview with Bloomberg Television last week.
