Tuesday emails from USAID Deputy Director Pete Marrocco to State Department staff revealed he will be replaced by Doge's Jeremy Lewin and Kenneth Jackson's Jeremy Lewin. New York Times It has been reported.

“USAID is under control, accountable and stable.”

Marrocco noted that the new appointment “will come into effect soon.”

“It was my honor to support Secretary Rubio in USAID leadership through several difficult stages to pivot this company away from past abuse,” Marocco said. I wrote it. “With USAID under control, accountable and stable, I will return to my post as Director of Foreign Assistance to bring value to the American people.”

State Department spokesman Tammy Bruce confirmed on Wednesday that Marrocco will serve as director of foreign aid for its agency. She called it “an essential role in aligning all US government foreign aid with the president's priorities.”

The AP reported that Lewin's appointment was marked “at least in the second dog” and moved to USAID.

At Doge, Lewin played an important role in dismantling USAID waste. This concluded 83% of the contract and placed the rest under the State Department.

A memo obtained by the Times reportedly revealed that the State Department plans to redesign USAID as a US International Humanitarian Agency and end its current independent status.

Also, in response to a lawsuit filed earlier this week by USAID staff, Maryland US District Judge Theodore Chuan prevented Doge from further cuts. The complaint argued that Doge and Elon Musk have no authority to dismantle the agency.

After finding that the cut was most likely unconstitutional, the judge ordered Doge to restore staff email and access to computers.

“To deny the plaintiff's appointment clause, on paper, it would open the door to a final run around the appointment clause, even if Musk is actually exercising important powers on government issues based on his lack of formal legal authority related to the decision in question,” Chuan wrote in the decision.

Several Republican lawmakers are trying to codify Doge. This is a move that will help protect it from the relentless law on the left.
