Dolly Parton Delays Her First Las Vegas Residency in 32 Years Due to Health Issues

NEW YORK (AP) – Dolly Parton Delays Las Vegas Residency

Dolly Parton has pushed back her first Las Vegas residency in 32 years, citing significant “health challenges,” which she shared on social media Sunday night.

While she didn’t go into specifics, she humorously mentioned, “As many of you know, I’ve dealt with some health challenges. My doctors say, when I joke with them, it should be my 100,000 miles of medical check-up time, but it’s not a trip to see my plastic surgeon!”

Parton explained that the delay is due to her inability to rehearse and prepare the shows she envisions.

She was set to perform six shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from December 4 to December 13, coinciding with the National Finals Rodeo. The performances are now rescheduled for September 2026.

Tickets will still be valid for the new dates, and refunds will be available, according to her statement.

“Dr. God still said nothing about stopping, so don’t worry about me,” she noted. “But I believe he’s been telling me to slow down now, so I believe I’m ready for a bigger adventure with you all.”

Parton occasionally performs but hasn’t toured since her “Pure and Simple” tour concluded in 2016. However, she’s been quite active. On November 11, she’s set to release her new book, “Show’s Star: My Life on Stage.” Additionally, a new stage musical based on her life will debut on Broadway in 2026.

Earlier this month, she missed the announcement of a new ride at Dollywood due to health concerns. “It turns out I have a kidney stone that’s causing a lot of problems and gave me an infection, and the doctor said, ‘I don’t have to travel right now, so I’ll need a few days to get better,'” Parton mentioned in a video at that time.

She also said, “So he suggested I wouldn’t go to Dollywood today, but I’m mentally there with you. I was pushing it so far.”

In March of this year, Parton’s husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, who preferred to stay out of the spotlight, sadly passed away at the age of 82.
