Dolphins Secure Linebacker Jordyn Brooks with New Contract

The Dolphins have just locked in an important player with a significant contract extension.

They reached a deal with linebacker Jordyn Brooks for three years valued at $51.3 million. This was reported by Adam Schefter earlier this week.

At 28 years old, Brooks now ranks as the sixth-highest paid inside linebacker in the league, both in terms of contract value and average annual value.

This extension for the All-Pro comes after the Dolphins also extended running back Devon Ashan and center Aaron Brewer earlier in the offseason.

Ashan signed a four-year extension in May, while Brewer signed a three-year deal in June.

New GM John Eric Sullivan previously stated that these players are among the “three pillars” of the team, suggesting their importance as the Dolphins look to reshape the roster.

Even amid contract talks, Brooks took part in spring practices.

He commented in May on his commitment to improvement, saying, “I know I need to get better as a player. That’s why I’m going into this game. I want my teammates to understand that I’m here for them and playing for the right reasons.”

Brooks began his career in Seattle before joining Miami in 2024 on a three-year contract.

Over the last two seasons, he has tallied more tackles (326) than any NFL player. Last year, Brooks led the league in both total tackles (183) and solo tackles (99), earning his first first-team All-Pro recognition.

He also served as a captain and received the Don Shula Leadership Award for the franchise last year.

As the Dolphins gear up to improve from a 7-10 record under new head coach Jeff Hafley, Brooks’ role will be crucial.
