The Miami Dolphins are sticking with Tyler Huntley.
Head coach Mike McDaniel said Tuesday that Huntley will start at quarterback for the Dolphins for the second straight year when Miami takes on the Patriots in Week 5 on Sunday.
“The injury, [Skylar Thompson] The ongoing treatment has been a little difficult so I'm going with Tyler [Huntley]'' McDaniel told reporters. “After reviewing the tape, we knew there was a reason for people to be excited about this. The results were far from what we wanted offensively, but we have a lot of things to build on as we continue to work.” We have some things to do and we're excited to get them done tomorrow.”
On Monday night, Huntley struggled in the Dolphins' 31-12 loss, throwing for just 96 yards on 14 of 22 throws, though he had 40 yards and one touchdown.
The Dolphins' offense has struggled since losing starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in Week 2 against the Bills on Sept. 12, allowing just 15 total points in the nine-plus quarters since he went down.
Tagovailoa suffered the fourth concussion of his career during that game and will be out for at least two more weeks, if not longer.
The Dolphins started Thompson in place of Tagovailoa in the team's 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks a week later.
He left the game in the third quarter with a rib injury and missed Monday night's game.

Huntley appeared in 19 games (eight starts) for the Ravens over the past three seasons after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2020 before being released from Baltimore's practice squad last month.
Tim Boyle, who was considered to start for Monday's game, is now a substitute for Huntley.
