With a playoff spot on the line, the Miami Dolphins will likely not start quarterback Tua Tagovailoa against the New York Jets on Sunday.
“It's unlikely that Tua will take any action,” head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters during Friday's press conference.
With Tagovailoa sidelined for the second straight week with a hip injury, the Dolphins' playoff hopes are now in the hands of Tyler “Snoop” Huntley.

If the Broncos win against the Chiefs, and the Chiefs rest their starting pitchers as widely reported, the Broncos will advance regardless of the outcome of the Dolphins-Jets game.
However, Tagovailoa said he would play if the Dolphins made the playoffs.

With Tagovailoa unlikely to play, his regular-season numbers ended with him completing 72.9 percent of his passes for 2,867 yards, 19 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 11 games.
Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in Week 2 against the Bills and missed the beginning of the season, and did not return to action until late October in a loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Tagovailoa has missed time due to injury during his five-year career, and last year was the only time he started every game in a season.
