Don Lemon Argues with Former Soccer Player over ‘President Musk’

“Who do you think is the real next president?” Lemon asked during an interview in New York City's Washington Square Park.

“I think Donald Trump won,” replied John, who has nearly 1 million YouTube subscribers and more than 300,000 TikTok followers.

The former CNN anchor fired back: “Democrats in Washington are now calling Elon Musk 'President Musk' and claiming that Donald Trump is vice president or communications director.”

“What? What? Oh, wait a minute, no, no one said that,” John interrupted.

“Really? You didn't watch the news or pay attention?” Lemon replied.

“Absolutely not. I pay attention to what I do throughout the day so that I can live a better life and get ahead,” John said.

Then, at Lemon's request, he did a quick online search for “President Musk” on his cell phone and found reports from ABC News, newspapers and other establishment media. washington post, new york times,and atlantic ocean mentioning the phrase.

“Keep going,” Lemon said with a laugh as John read out the store's name.

“We don't trust any of this. The public doesn't trust this,” the athlete fired back. “I don't trust any of these. I don't trust any of them…We are common people. We don't trust any of these. Nobody trusts the government. No one trusts the news.”

“I can't disagree with you,” Lemon admitted.

Trump himself has rejected Democratic claims that Musk has become the de facto president-elect, joking that Musk is “safe” because he “wasn't born in this country.”

“No, no, that's not happening,” President Trump said Sunday at the Turning Point USA conference in Phoenix, Arizona. “But Elon did a great job. Isn't it nice to have smart people?”

“No, he's not going to be president, I can tell you that,” he added, again telling the audience that Musk is “a great guy.”
