President Joe Biden’s open border is a “bloodbath,” former President Donald Trump declared Tuesday in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
During his campaign stop speech, President Trump addressed the death of Ruby Garcia, a 25-year-old local woman who authorities reported was shot to death on a highway by an immigrant the government deported in 2020.
“I stand before you today to declare that Joe Biden’s border is a bloody disaster, and that is what it is,” President Trump said. “It’s a blood fest.”
“They tried to use that word incorrectly against me two weeks ago,” President Trump said, referring to establishment media spin. “It’s all about misinformation. All they’re doing is rigging the election… but it’s a disaster at the border and it’s destroying our country.”
“We kicked him out of the country, but the crooked Joe Biden brought him back and kept him in the country. And he was arrested by Ruby, an illegal alien who was charged with the really heinous murder of Ruby. brutally murdered,” President Trump said. “This individual has had numerous arrests, including one where he was released to roam our streets because he committed crimes so heinous.”
President Trump spoke about the dangers of Biden’s open borders policy, which changed laws to make it easier for immigrants to stay in the United States.
“They’re sending prisoners, murderers, drug traffickers, mentally ill people, terrorists, and they have the worst conditions in any country in the world,” Trump said. “This isn’t just South America. They’re coming from Congo, Yemen, Somalia, Syria. They’re coming from all over the world, including China.”
“Many of them are of military age,” Trump continued. Over the past few months, he has received 29,000 detainees, 29,000 of whom are from China, all of whom appear to be fully fit and ready for military service. That’s crazy. “
Immigration is one of the top three issues heading into the 2024 presidential election. According to a March YouGov poll, Americans cited inflation/high prices (21%), illegal vs. legal immigration (16%), and jobs and the economic downturn (9%) as their top three issues.
Biden’s approval rating is below 50% on the three issues of greatest concern.
- Inflation/Prices: 32% support – 61% disapprove
- Immigration: 30% approve – 59% disapprove
- Employment and the economy: 41% approve – 51% disapprove
Overall, just 40% of Americans approve of Biden’s performance, well below the 50% threshold historically required for incumbents to win re-election.
