Donald Trump Jr claims evidence in Kirk's murder settles conspiracy theories

Trump Jr. Addresses Evidence in Charlie Kirk’s Murder Case

Donald Trump Jr. stated on Thursday that the release of evidence from the preliminary hearing in the murder case of Charlie Kirk has effectively dispelled many “conspiracy theories” surrounding his death.

Trump Jr., who is a long-time friend of Kirk, attended the proceedings in a Provo, Utah courtroom this week, where he reviewed unsealed evidence against the alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson.

“From everything we saw in court, it’s quite evident what Tyler Robinson did,” he remarked during an interview on “Jesse Watters Prime Time.”

He described the evidence presented as more clear-cut than he had anticipated.

Robinson, 23, faces charges for allegedly fatally shooting Kirk, 31, at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025, and he may be sentenced to death if convicted.

The preliminary hearing commenced on Monday, where prosecutors were building a case to establish probable cause to move forward to trial with a series of charges.

During Thursday’s hearing, it was revealed that Robinson had confessed to killing Kirk in a text message to a roommate soon after the shooting, mentioning he had “enough hate.” Additionally, DNA evidence was discussed, with Trump Jr. noting that Robinson’s confession sheds significant light on the incident.

Trump Jr. also raised concerns about the security at the event, questioning the presence of only six police officers at such a significant gathering on a college campus.

He said, “What baffles me is not merely whether Tyler Robinson acted alone or if there’s more to the story, but the question of why the security was so insufficient at a major event.” He emphasized the size of these events, recalling that he has participated in numerous Turning Point USA gatherings across the country, which usually attract a larger law enforcement presence.

As the hearing progressed, Trump Jr. noted a shift in public opinion about Kirk’s death, stating that it has moved from uncertainty to a strong belief in Robinson’s guilt, with most now leaning towards a “90-10” perspective.

Although he dismissed the conspiracy theories around Kirk’s murder, he acknowledged why people may have had doubts initially. Prosecutors are expected to bring more evidence to light in upcoming hearings, with a trial date still pending.
