Donald Trump Jr., Elon Musk Make End-of-Year Push for Kids Online Safety Act

Donald Trump Jr. and Elon Musk called on Congress over the weekend to pass the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA).

“We can protect free speech and children from Big Tech at the same time. It's time for House Republicans to pass the Kids Online Safety Act as soon as possible,” Trump Jr. wrote on Sunday.

Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X (formerly Twitter), said Saturday that she and the company pushed for the passage of KOSA after the bill's language was updated to address several concerns He said that

“Protecting our children should always be our top priority,” Musk responded.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) led the push to pass the bill.

The Kids Online Safety Act aims to give parents control over their children's online experiences to protect their children's health and well-being, and the Open App Markets Act aims to rein in the Apple and Google app store duopoly. This is a bill to dismantle.

The Kids Online Safety Act passed the Senate by an overwhelming 91-3 vote, and proponents are now hoping for passage in the House.
