Engagement at Camp David
Over the weekend, Donald Trump Jr. proposed to Bettina Anderson at Camp David, following a celebration for her 39th birthday.
According to sources, they arrived at the president’s resort on Friday, and Trump Jr. popped the question the next day.
Located in Maryland’s Catoctin Mountain Park, Camp David has a history of hosting significant meetings since World War II. The proposal had supposedly been in the works for a while.
While it wasn’t a surprise to those close to the couple, there was plenty of enthusiasm about their engagement. Page Six first shared the news, which was later confirmed by President Trump at a White House gathering.
“They are very close, and they just announced through me that they are getting married,” the president stated as he brought them to the podium. “Young love.”
The excitement didn’t stop with the president. Ivanka and Eric Trump expressed their joy and welcomed Anderson into the family. Ivanka mentioned, “We are all so excited for Don and Bettina to start this new chapter together,” while Eric added, “Don and I have always been inseparable, and Bettina and I have a great relationship.”
Sources indicate the couple is enjoying the aftermath of the engagement, with Anderson reportedly very happy.
Trump Jr. began dating Anderson last year, shortly after his previous engagement to Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle ended. Previously, he was married to Vanessa, with whom he shares five children. They divorced in 2018.
Trump Jr. was engaged to Guilfoyle in 2020, but that relationship also ended in December, around the time Anderson, daughter of philanthropists Harry Roy Anderson Jr. and Inger Anderson, made her public debut.
Anderson quickly became part of the social scene, attending functions at Mar-a-Lago and Trump’s inauguration in January. By the end of the month, reports suggested they were living together.
