Former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden in Michigan, according to a recent poll from Mitchell Research.
Trump has narrowly outperformed the incumbent president in head-to-head contests and in contests involving third-party candidates.
When the two go head-to-head, Trump Lead Biden is ahead by 2 percentage points in the state, with his approval rating at 49 percent to Biden’s 47 percent.
In the five-way race, which also includes independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Green Party candidate Jill Stein and independent Cornel West, Trump still leads with 46 percent support, Biden with 45 percent, Kennedy with an additional 5 percent, and Stein and West with 1 percent each.
“Trump is ahead in this binary race because he has consolidated the Republican base more than Biden has consolidated the Democratic base,” according to Steve Mitchell, president of Mitchell Research and Communications, a theme that is common in other polls.

Mitchell added:
Trump is winning 92% of the Republican vote while Biden is winning 89% of the Democratic vote. More importantly, Trump is winning 9% of the Democratic vote while Biden is winning just 4% of the Republican vote. Biden is leading among independents, a key voter group, 49% to 43%.
This reality is consistent with Democrats being unhappy with Biden’s selection as the nominee: A recent Rasmussen Reports poll asked Democrats if they wanted to remove Biden from the running, and a majority, 54 percent, said they would.

Rasmussen Voted Between May 20 and 22, 1,113 voters were asked a very blunt question: “Do you agree or disagree that the Democratic Party should find a candidate to replace Joe Biden before the November election?” While only 49% of all people surveyed said they agreed, that number jumped to 54% among Democrats.
Only 43% of Republicans agreed.
You can see why: Democrats are panicking because they look at the polls and see four more years of Donald Trump continuing to prove all their ideas are stupid. When it comes to Biden, he’s proven all their ideas were terrible, so they want to dump him and blame their policy failures on him instead of their bad ideas.
The Michigan statewide survey was conducted May 20-21, 2024. The margin of error is +/- 3.71 percentage points.
Trump lost the state in 2020 by 2.8 percentage points.
The investigation came before a Manhattan jury found Trump guilty on all 34 charges in his business records trial. Trump has since vowed to fight back, despite mainstream media describing him as a “convicted felon.”
