Former President Donald Trump will likely hold Vice President Kamala Harris accountable for the myriad failures of her and President Joe Biden's administration during Tuesday's debate, Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller said Monday.
Miller, speaking to reporters at a Trump campaign news conference on the eve of the ABC News debate, argued that while Harris “bears responsibility for all the failures of the Harris-Biden administration,” it is not Biden who is actually running the country, but rather Biden, whose cognitive abilities have come under intense scrutiny since his political career ended in a debate with Trump in June.
“We saw in the debate when President Trump ran against Joe Biden that Biden has no responsibility for anything, not even for running an administration, not even for tying his shoelaces,” Miller said. “So that begs the question: Who is actually in charge of this country right now? As we unpack this, it's clear that it's Kamala Harris who has been running this country all this time.”
“Harris created this nightmare and now she can't say things are getting better,” Miller said of Harris.
Miller pointed to the administration's failures across the board, including the border crisis, inflation-inducing legislation and the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, as several examples.
“Kamala Harris is the border czar and she's responsible for the border crisis. This is all Kamala Harris' fault. Kamala Harris was the deciding vote on two stimulus bills that led to skyrocketing inflation. Even Larry Summers and others said, 'Don't do that,' but Kamala did it anyway,” Miller said. “Kamala Harris bragged that she was the last person in the room before Joe Biden executed his disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.”

Miller said viewers can also expect “a few surprises during the debate,” noting other issues on which she appears to have a lead.
“So when you think about other things that Kamala Harris is in charge of, because Joe Biden is incompetent and not really in charge, everything from Mayor Pete Brown screwing up the airlines to all the other disasters that we've seen from East Palestine … think about the Maui wildfires. All of these disasters are Kamala Harris' responsibility.”
Miller added that Trump is “paying attention to everything.”
“I think that's primarily why the new advisers to the Obama campaign kept Kamala Harris off the campaign for two months, because they know that she can't defend her own record while defending everyone else's,” he said.
Miller also said Harris created other weaknesses for herself, including by being indecisive on issues and telling CNN's Dana Bash during an interview with Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) that “my values haven't changed.”
Miller elaborated that this “really opens the door to having a conversation about what those values are.”
“What has Kamala Harris stood for all these years, from the very beginning? The bottom line is, these are dangerously liberal, liberal policy positions,” he added.
The debate will take place on Tuesday at 9 pm ET at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. ABC News shared details on how to watch the debate. here.
