Arizona State Police are investigating the man seen on door camera sexually satisfied at the door of a woman who hired him to deliver food through DoorDash.
Lily Sifenfong told KPNX-TV about the incident, which left her feeling abused and disgusted.
She said she returned home from work to her apartment complex in Phoenix on April 27 and ordered dinner from a food delivery service.
“It just so happened that one night I thought, ‘I don’t want to make food,’ so I had DoorDash deliver food,” Seiffenfong said.
“I don’t like it, I feel violated, I just feel uncomfortable…”
The ensuing interaction was captured on a neighbor’s Ring door camera. The man left the bag in front of her door around 2:09 a.m. and left. About two minutes later, she opened the door to deliver the food to her apartment, but saw her delivery person leave, police said.
“He was walking across and his eyes seemed to be glued to the side towards me and I thought that was odd. So I locked both keys in the door. I did,” she said.
She said she slept, but the next morning the story changed.
Seiffenfong said a neighbor told her the man had returned to her front door and that she needed to see what had been captured.
“I got a message from my neighbor across the hall who has a Ring camera installed. And he said to me, ‘Hey, this happened.’ And he was masturbating right in front of the door after I got the food,” Seiffenphon said, “and within five minutes.”
He reportedly returned home at 2:16 a.m., according to the timestamp on the video. KPNX-TV reports that the video shows him masturbating on the woman’s doorstep before taking out the images on his cell phone.
KPNX asked Siphengphone to express how he felt about the video.
“I’m just disgusted, assaulted, and disgusted because he knows exactly where I live and how to get into my building,” she responded.
“This is outrageous and unacceptable.”
Seiffenfong said she called police and reported the video to DoorDash. She was not impressed with her company’s initial response. She showed her KPNX a message sent from DoorDash.
“We want to assure you that we have investigated this incident and have taken appropriate steps to remove this Dasher from future orders,” the message said.
“They apologized for what happened to me and said they would remove him from my orders going forward,” she explained.
KPNX contacted the company and was told that the man had been permanently removed from the app for all orders, not just Siphengphone orders.
“They apologized for doing that after I saw the video on social media and now he’s completely banned from DoorDash,” she continued. ”
She also received a $15 credit and her order was refunded.
Phoenix police released a brief statement regarding the investigation into the incident.
A video of the incident was taken and collected as evidence. A report was prepared and sent to investigators. Detectives are working to establish the appropriate crime and identify those responsible for the crime. This incident remains an active investigation and no arrests have been made at this time.
Seiffenphon said she wants a thorough investigation, as she fears the man’s behavior will escalate.
DoorDash also released a statement to KPNX regarding the incident.
This individual’s behavior was outrageous and unacceptable, and he has been permanently removed from our platform. We have reached out directly to our customers to assist in any way possible. Negative incidents like this one are extremely rare. The majority of Dashers follow the rules, do the right thing, and aim to provide a quality experience for consumers.
