A DoorDash driver, who openly identifies as a communist, is dealing with repercussions after she canceled a food order for the Department of Homeland Security, publicly claiming that the meal was stolen from her.
The driver shared on social media that she had picked up food from a detention center in Buffalo, New York, but instead chose to donate it to a local food pantry.
“The individual was abusive towards agents as our support team attempted to address their report and explain our policies. This is another violation,” a representative mentioned.
The user behind the account “nixxslingerland,” who had a profile picture showcasing a “Black Lives Matter” shirt, posted, “I delivered another canceled Nazi DoorDash to the free food pantry and was given this big bag of M&Ms in return. I love communism.”
In another message, she noted, “For those of you who don’t know, there’s a detention center very close to my town. Every time I contact support to tell them that we need to completely clear the place, I doubt they will do that, but it still feels good to cancel orders and donate food.”
DoorDash responded to a popular TikTok account that shared the alleged post. The account posted the image on Wednesday afternoon, indicating that it had been shared days earlier.
“This Dasher’s account has been deactivated,” a statement from the official DoorDash account declared. “Abusing the safety deallocation feature to intentionally cancel orders and redirect food delivery is theft and violates both our Community Guidelines and Platform Access Policy,” the message continued. “The person was also abusive towards the agent as our support team was trying to help. This is another violation.”
It appears that the user may have canceled their account or changed their name since then. Efforts to reach related accounts for comment did not yield any responses.
In the past, DoorDash has faced criticism, especially from anti-Trump supporters, for promoting food deliveries to the White House, such as McDonald’s meals.
