Doug Ellin Criticizes Los Angeles' Drop in Quality Under Karen Bass, Supports Spencer Pratt for Mayor

Doug Ellin, the creator of HBO’s popular show, Entourage, is backing Spencer Pratt in the Los Angeles mayoral election. He believes it’s time for a change because they view the current mayor, Karen Bass, as a significant failure.

Erin appeared on Billy Bush’s show, Hot Mic, where she strongly criticized the mayor and encouraged voters to support Spencer Pratt.

During their conversation about the election, Bush questioned Erin if supporting Pratt might harm her career in Hollywood. Erin confidently stated that she doesn’t care about Hollywood’s opinions; her priority is to elect someone who can create a safer environment for children in Los Angeles, and she doesn’t believe Bass is that leader.

“I’ve worked tirelessly for my kids’ future,” Erin expressed. “Keeping them safe and giving them opportunities is what matters most to me, so public opinion doesn’t faze me.”

Ellin noted that even some liberals, who usually react strongly against Trump supporters, are growing frustrated with the situation in Los Angeles.

Erin also mentioned that the Democratic leadership, including Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom, has led to the city’s decline.

She clarified, “This isn’t about Donald Trump for me. I’m not his fan; I didn’t vote for him. What I’m saying is we need to try something new because the current situation is untenable.”

Bush and Erin discussed Bass’s recent trip to Ghana while the city faced challenges. Bush pointed out she was there for the presidential inauguration and expressed disbelief that the mayor could be overseas when her city was in crisis. Erin echoed this, insisting such actions should disqualify her from public office.

Bush reminded everyone that Bass had promised during her campaign never to leave the country while serving as mayor, yet she traveled abroad multiple times.

He also criticized Bass for her handling of the recent crisis, noting discrepancies in her statements regarding the conditions during the emergency, where she claimed conditions prevented helicopter support, contradicting Pratt’s assertion about the winds.

Bush emphasized that the winds were actually below 40 miles per hour and suggested helicopters could have been used more effectively.

He further pointed out that Bass left her deputy mayor, Brian K. Williams, to handle the situation, exacerbating the city’s response issues.

In addition, Bush mentioned various issues facing the city, including police shortages, homelessness, and lack of accountability for funds, expressing concern about the direction the city is heading.

Erin criticized Bass and Newsom for downplaying issues like homelessness and crime, only to acknowledge them now that elections are approaching. She felt it was imperative for change and expressed a wish that Rick Caruso were still in the race. However, she believes that currently, only Spencer Pratt is resonating with her concerns.

“They’ve claimed things are fine for years, but now that they need votes, they suddenly have solutions. It’s frustrating,” Erin noted. “I just have to hope that Spencer can rise to the occasion, though it feels like a tall order.”
