Dr. Dre is on his way to becoming a West Coast legend in more ways than one.
The legendary rapper and producer became one of the most prominent figures in rap in the late ’80s and early ’90s as a member of NWA and co-founder of Death Row Records.
Since then, he’s discovered Eminem and 50 Cent, founded Aftermath Entertainment and Beats by Dre, and been on his way to becoming a billionaire.

While his legacy is firmly established on the West Coast and in the rap world, it seems he has one more thing on his bucket list.
“I’m trying to compete in the 2028 Olympics … I’m very serious about it,” he told Entertainment Tonight this week.
His sport of choice? Archery.
“Actually, I started archery when I was in middle school. I stopped for a while, but then my son bought me a set. I have it set up in the backyard. I heard the Olympic qualification is 77 feet. I’m practicing at 90 feet. Doesn’t that sound fun?” He said.

The 2028 Olympics will be held in Los Angeles, which may be a bit of fate for Dre, as he grew up in Compton.
Dre was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in March this year for his nine Grammy Awards and other successes in the music industry.
South Korea won all five archery events (men’s individual, men’s team, women’s individual, women’s individual and mixed team). Brady Ellison of the United States won the silver medal in the men’s individual and the bronze medal in the mixed team, along with Casey Kaufhold.

The U.S. has won 14 gold medals in archery, but hasn’t won one since 1996, so Dr. Dre might just break the streak.
