Heart-stopping, shocking video captures the moment the US Coast Guard rushed an eight-year-old boy with appendicitis from the deck of a cruise ship on the high seas near California.
Footage showed a Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter hovering above the Royal Princess on Tuesday and a crew member lowered onto the deck and picked up the boy. The agency.
Authorities said the Ocean Cruise Ship was 20 miles off the coast of Eureka, California, when the Coast Guard received a call about the boy's welfare around 7 a.m.
The helicopter arrived at the ship about an hour later and pulled the boy, wearing a white sweatshirt with a yellow hoodie, on board along with his mother.
Authorities said the boy was taken to St. Joseph Hospital emergency room where he was treated.
