Arkansas State Police have released a dramatic video that captures the moment one of their brave officers swung into action and rescued a frightened boy from a frozen pond.
Officer Troy Ellison of the Jonesboro Police Department responded Sunday morning to a call of a boy who had fallen through the ice of a frozen pond on Gladiolus Drive.
Body camera footage shows Ellison running through the snow to a small pond and jumping over a fence onto the ice as two women watch.

“Okay, okay, okay, okay,” Ellison can be heard saying to the boy, who clung to the edge of the frozen pond, clinging to his arms and whimpering in agony.
Ellison then crawled up to the boy on all fours and tried to reassure him.
“Okay, okay,” Ellison told the boy again.
Seconds later, another police officer and members of the Jonesboro Fire Department arrived on the scene and threw a rope to Ellison, who tried to use it to pull the boy to safety.
