It's no exaggeration to say that Drew Barrymore's dog Douglas has a thing for Eva Mendes. The Drew Barrymore Show, The beloved talk show host was forced to scold the puppy for biting a guest's dress.
It's not uncommon to see Douglas lounging quietly on the sofa during his mother's interviews, but today he made a bold statement by poking his head into Mendes' floral Stella McCartney dress.
“Guys, he's like nibbling on a little rose,” Mendes says, leaning forward a little, “and I think Stella McCartney would love it.”
But while Barrymore ignored her dog and instead gushed about Mendes and McCartney's new campaign, trying to liven up the show, Douglas had other plans.
“Really? Are you guys seeing this?” Mendes asked again, still biting her dress.
But Barrymore persisted, calling McCartney, who has four children, “a wonderful mother,” while Mendes did his best to distract Douglas from her outfit.
Barrymore finally took stern punishment toward the end of the interview, when Douglas jumped off the couch and started sniffing around Mendes.
“Douglas! Douglas! Douglas! You're lucky she's such a nice person! She takes it in stride!” she shouted, as the camera panned to her adorable pet in a bow tie.
This isn't the first time Douglas has screwed up an interview. The Drew Barrymore Show, Barrymore spotted him getting a little too cozy with Jeremy Renner.
“Douglas gets really excited sometimes out of nowhere and it's just a hindrance. I mean it as a compliment, but it's really awkward,” she said, and Renner kissed her tenderly on the head. “Thank you. There's nothing worse than being embarrassed by your own child. Thank you for understanding.”
