Drexel University in Philadelphia was placed on lockdown as anti-Israel demonstrators occupied the campus.
University officials are working with Philadelphia police, and President John Frye has demanded that the camp “must end” immediately. The protest is one of dozens still continuing on campuses across the country, despite the final day of the academic year.
“This encampment must end. We remind Drexel students participating in this protest that violations of our Student Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action. “Encampment participants not affiliated with Drexel are trespassing,” Frye said in a directed statement. to the students on Sunday.

Similar to protests elsewhere, demonstrators at Drexel University are demanding that the university divest from companies that do business with Israel. They are also demanding that universities disclose their investments and publicly support the Gaza ceasefire.

The unrest at Drexel comes as universities across the country seek to avoid political unrest in order to hold commencement and commencement ceremonies. Some venues have been forced to cancel events altogether.

In a statement Sunday, Morehouse College defended the students and faculty who turned against Biden.
Morehouse said that “peaceful assembly” is at the core of the school's “tradition of social justice,” and that the school's administration “supports the right to peacefully protest and to express one's views openly.” I fully support and defend him.”
