Drugged-out Florida man charged with biting off piece of cop’s head

Sometimes crime fights back.

A drug-addicted man was arrested in Florida after a horrific attack on a sheriff’s deputy at a local music festival and bit off part of the officer’s head, authorities said.

Vortex Springs Solfest volunteer James Anderson was charged Monday with resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer at the festival. WDHN-TV News reported.

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office said Anderson was suspected of being under the influence of PCP, LSD, ketamine, mushrooms and ecstasy.

The deputy, whose name has not been released, was on patrol at the venue when he got into a scuffle with a rowdy Anderson and had to subdue him with a Taser after taking a chunk out of the officer’s head.

“There’s always positive feelings and there’s always negative feelings,” said Autumn Kromer, a festival goer. ABC affiliate station WJHG-TV News.

“It’s just part of how the world and the universe work.

“There can’t be good without bad, but most of the festival was about people of higher vibrations – loving each other and supporting each other.”

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office did not respond to a request for comment.
