Drunk middle school teaching assistant arrested after student drank her vodka thinking it was Mountain Dew: police

A middle school teacher in Georgia was arrested and canned after a student drank vodka thinking it was Mountain Dew. Her blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit, police said.

Alexandra “Nicole” Lambert, 39, was fired from her Morgan County middle school after a student took a sip from a bottle that belonged to her, believing it was just a soda. WSBTV coverage.

Instead, the student threw away the drink and reported it to another teacher, who took the matter to the principal’s office Thursday afternoon.

Lambert admitted there was vodka in the bottle, but claimed he accidentally brought it to school.

Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies were called around 1:15 p.m. and performed a breathalyzer test on Lambert, which recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.259.

This reading was more than three times Georgia’s legal driving limit of 0.08.

Lambert was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct involving public intoxication.

She was arrested at the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Facility.

Morgan County Charter Schools acknowledged the incident in a statement to parents, adding that Lambert “is no longer employed by our district.”

The district added, “The safety of our staff and students is our top priority and we take all incidents seriously.” “We have zero tolerance for any behavior that may jeopardize their well-being.”

Lambert’s attorney was not immediately available for comment.
