Dutch Populist Leader Geert Wilders Endorses Donald Trump for President

Dutch populist leader Geert Wilders has endorsed former President Donald J. Trump as American voters head to the polls to choose the next leader of the free world.

Geert Wilders, currently the main power behind the Dutch government and therefore one of Europe's most influential populist leaders, endorsed Donald Trump as presidential candidate on Tuesday.

The Liberal Party (PVV) leader wrote on the X social media platform: And I'm not American.

“But if I were an American, I would definitely vote for President Trump today. Good luck, Mr. President!”

Like Trump, the Dutch populist is a major opponent of globalist mass immigration policies.

Wilders shocked the continent by winning a “huge victory” in last year's Dutch general election, making his populist party PVV the country's largest, amid growing sentiment against open border policies across Europe. Ta.

Mr. Wilders also shares the dubious distinction with Mr. Trump of being a frequent target of political violence and death threats, and has been arrested by police since 2004 over concerns about Islamist attacks on his criticism of Islam. is under 24-hour protection.

In September, two Pakistani Islamists were sentenced to prison in absentia by The Hague for calling on their supporters to kill a Dutch populist leader.

Following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in July, Wilders warned that similar attacks against conservative politicians could occur on the other side of the Atlantic.

“What happened in the United States can happen in the Netherlands. Do not underestimate it. The hatred against right-wing politicians is also unprecedented in our country. If necessary, we need to significantly increase their security.” he said.

Wilders is not the only European supporter of Republican candidates. Figures such as Brexit leader Nigel Farage and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban have both sought to restore peace and end the war in Ukraine, the continent's most serious conflict since World War II. They argue that President Trump's leadership is needed.

President Trump also has the support of Jourdan Bardera, an upstart political force in France who led the National Rally to a landslide victory over President Macron in the European Parliament elections earlier this year. Bardera commented on the presidential election earlier this month, saying he admired President Trump for putting America first.

“What's clear is that Donald Trump is protecting the interests of the American people and protecting a form of American pride. I like that patriotism,” Bardera said. “I like these political leaders who put the interests of their own people, the interests of their country and country, above perhaps the interests of others.”
