Are you looking for a gorgeous event gown for under $600?
Stacey Bendet, Creative Director at Alice + Olivia, is here to help.
“Women want to dress up, but they don't want to spend $10,000 to go to a party,” she told Alexa at a star-studded fashion presentation in the Meatpacking District.
“I think a lot of evening dress designers started pricing them too high for their purposes,” the designer explained, “I try to make my evening dresses affordable, and they're worth every detail.”
The theme of her spring collection is “Imaginary Hotel.” “I wanted to transport everyone to another time,” Bendetto says. Her favorite hotel in the world is Villa Treville in Positano, Italy, a clifftop resort overlooking the Amalfi Coast where Madonna celebrated her 66th birthday with her family and where Jennifer Lopez stayed this summer.
“The clothes this season have an old-fashioned couture feel, with cinched waists and puffy skirts,” she continued, “and are very elegant, but modern and finished with fun, quirky prints and embroidery.”
Bendette's guests included Tiffany Haddish, Olivia and Sofia Culpo, Paris Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Eva Phillippe, Brooks Nader, Bijou Phillips, and Paris, Kathy and Nicky Hilton, who wandered the venue admiring the fashion as models posed in elaborate pieces. Izan Elba DJed the party, mixing songs from Paris Hilton's new album, Bad Bitch Academy.
From a striped sequin mini dress to a pink gown with a sparkly cape to a romantic yellow maxi dress with a giant hip-high bow, Bendet let her imagination run wild.
Dylan Mulvaney, the transgender social media personality and actress who debuted her one-woman play “F*GHAG” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, wore the brand's sparkly black minidress with a feathered hem and matching gloves. “It was very Great Gatsby-like,” she said.
“I wear Stacey's clothes a lot, to a lot of events, because they remind me of Audrey Hepburn,” the TikTok star said. “Audrey is definitely one of my style icons, but she's become a little edgier lately. I feel like Julia Fox has become a total icon for me lately, and I'd also consider Dolly Parton if I wanted to go country.”
Looking for a pair of sequined hot pants worthy of Dolly?
That's also the case with Bendett.
