Philadelphia Eagles Face Disappointing Loss to Chicago Bears

The Philadelphia Eagles had a tough break on Black Friday, with coaching decisions weighing heavily on their loss against the Chicago Bears.

After AJ Brown’s second touchdown, the Eagles were down 24-15 with just a little over three minutes left in the game. You might think an extra point would be the logical route, but head coach Nick Sirianni opted to keep the offense on the field, aiming to play it out in two possessions.

This decision, it turns out, didn’t help their chances. A pass from Jalen Hurts aimed at Saquon Barkley fell incomplete, almost sealing their fate.

Eagles fans were clearly frustrated, booing throughout the game, and social media erupted with reactions to Sirianni’s two-point attempt instead of taking the extra point. While the coaching choice sparked chatter, it wasn’t the only factor that contributed to the loss. The Eagles’ run defense struggled significantly, allowing 281 rushing yards. Remarkably, this was the first instance since 1985 where the Bears had two players rush for over 100 yards in a single game.

The Eagles faced jeers from their home crowd as the Bears pulled off an unexpected victory. In stark contrast, the Eagles managed a mere 326 yards of offense, with only 14 first downs compared to the Bears’ 28.

Hurts struggled, completing just over half of his passes and making two crucial turnovers in the second half, including a costly fumble during a push. This loss comes on the heels of their previous defeat against the Dallas Cowboys, where they led 21-0 before ultimately losing. This now leaves the Eagles in a streak of losses, whereas the Bears are on a winning trajectory at 9-3.

Looking ahead, the Eagles will aim to regain momentum in their next matchup against the Chargers in Los Angeles on December 8. Meanwhile, the Bears, riding high with five consecutive wins, will prepare to face the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
