A passenger caused quite a scare, prompting an emergency landing at Glasgow Airport in Scotland on Sunday.
A distressing video captured the moment a 41-year-old man began yelling “Alahu Akbar!” while threatening those on board Easyjet flight 609. This occurred when the plane was roughly an hour away from Turnberry golf course, where Trump was playing.
“I’m going to bomb the plane! Death to America! Death to Trump!” he shouted before several fellow passengers quickly intervened and tackled him.
The incident took place at around 8 AM, shortly after takeoff from Luton Airport in London. One witness recounted the scene, saying, “A man grabbed him from behind, took him down, and others jumped in.” It seems that chaos unfolded fairly quickly.
Despite some resistance on the floor, it was evident that the man realized he was in trouble. Those holding him down expressed their frustration, calling him an “idiot” for endangering innocent people with his alarming claims.
The brave passengers managed to keep control of the situation until the aircraft landed, where police and airport officials then took the suspect into custody, ensuring no explosives were present on the plane.
As authorities escorted him down the aisle, he was heard asking about his lost phone and wallet, leading some passengers to jokingly shout “F-K off!” which sparked laughter among them. Quite a strange turn of events, really.
Police in Scotland stated that the incident is still being looked into but suggested that the man appeared to be acting alone and wasn’t a significant threat to public safety.
Easyjet confirmed the suspect’s arrest following the unexpected landing, emphasizing that passenger safety remains their top priority.
