Maureen Maguire, the girlfriend of Ed Kelse, has passed away at the age of 74.
An obituary shared by the NFL star’s sons, Travis and Jason Kelce, on their Facebook page indicates that she “died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.”
“Maureen found joy in the simple things in life. She loved the beach, particularly the shore, and had a special place in her heart for her dogs,” the obituary states.
Maguire also developed a love for football in her later years, enjoying many laughs and adventures with Ed Kelce and his loyal dog, Butch.
“Together, they often traveled, attended football games and concerts, fully embracing life as they went,” the obituary continued.
It highlighted her unique ability to make friends feel valued and welcome, noting how she could turn an ordinary moment into something special.
Maguire is survived by her three children, six grandchildren, a sister, and a brother. The cause of her death has not been disclosed.
A private burial for Maguire is scheduled for August 7th at St. John Vianney’s Church in Gladwin, Pennsylvania.
While not much is known about Ed and Maureen’s relationship, there was a memorable interaction between the two NFL fathers and Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift, back in February 2024. During a photo opportunity, Maguire playfully remarked, “Hey, that’s my boyfriend.”
Ed, now 74, was previously married to Donna Kelce in the late 70s. They welcomed their sons, Jason and Travis, in 1987 and 1989. The couple was together for nearly 25 years before their separation after their sons graduated from college.
Last October, Donna, 72, shared that she and Ed remained “friendly” post-separation, emphasizing their commitment to keeping their children’s lives as normal as possible. She recounted feeling as if she stood still for a few years before moving on.
