During Friday’s episode of News Nation’s “Cuomo,” Representative Amivela (D-CA) expressed his concerns about “white college-educated liberals” urging Democrats to take actions that might lead people to El Salvador. He emphasized that the party should prioritize working for the middle class instead.
“What frustrates me,” he remarked, “is that those who are advocating for this direction are typically white college-educated liberals. We should be focusing on the middle class, reaching out to Red States, and addressing the needs of those areas we’ve neglected,” he noted, adding that the party lost significant ground in those regions and there’s much to learn from it.
He further insisted on the importance of communication, saying, “It’s crucial that we engage with them. We need to meet them where they are and avoid coming across as elitists.”
