Elliott Caddo’s Incident Prior to Final Four Trip
Elliott Caddo appears to be “fine” after a potential allergic reaction on Wednesday, just as the University of Michigan was about to head to Indianapolis for the Final Four.
The point guard informed the team’s medical personnel about a possible allergic reaction connected to something he had eaten, according to a statement from the university.
“Doctors assessed Elliott, and he is OK,” the statement indicated.
Shortly before 3 p.m., a video surfaced on social media showing someone being wheeled out of the Player Development Center, accompanied by paramedics, staff, and police in Michigan State gear.
“Out of an abundance of caution, he is under medical supervision and will be traveling to Indianapolis later today,” Michigan State added in a statement.
Caddo has played all 38 games for the Wolverines this season, averaging 10.2 points and 5.8 assists as a No. 1 seed.
During the NCAA Tournament, he has averaged 10.5 points and 8.3 assists over four games.
Having transferred to Ann Arbor from North Carolina State, Caddo aims to help Michigan capture its first men’s basketball national championship since 1989.
The Wolverines advanced to the Final Four by defeating Howard, St. Louis, Alabama, and Tennessee.
The upcoming challenge is against another No. 1 seed, Arizona, this Saturday night, which will be critical to moving forward.
Michigan is set to practice at Lucas Oil Stadium on Thursday and Friday, preparing for the significant game ahead.
As of now, it’s uncertain whether Caddo will be in the lineup against the Wildcats.
