Elon Musk commits to resuming ’24/7′ work at his companies following a major X outage.

On Saturday, Elon Musk announced he would turn his attention to “open 24/7” headlines for X, Tesla, and SpaceX, especially after a recent X outage that impacted numerous users in the U.S. and beyond.

In a post on X, he mentioned, “Back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in a meeting/server/factory room.”

The 53-year-old acknowledged that the recent issues with X highlighted the need for “major operational improvements,” noting that the failover redundancy should have worked but didn’t.

Problems began for users on Thursday afternoon, triggered by a fire at a data center in Oregon earlier that day.

This week, Musk also hinted at plans to streamline government efficiency when it comes to his work in D.C.

During a briefing with White House reporters, he spoke about contributing to Doge and mentioned that it had saved $160 billion by reducing the federal workforce and pulling back on contracts.

Musk asserted he would be available to visit D.C. one or two days a week, “as long as the president wants to do that with me.” He described his work primarily as involving volunteer organizations.

He expressed pride in Doge’s achievements, saying, “I think we’ve been effective in the grand scheme of things,” while the organization aims to cut $2 trillion from the U.S. budget.

Last month, he informed Tesla investors that he planned to cut back his involvement with Doge as the electric vehicle company navigates challenging sales figures.

Reflecting on his first 100 days, Musk shared, “The first three months have to be very intense, so I’m trying to understand what’s going on and map the government in general.”

He described the federal government as “a huge beast and extremely complicated,” emphasizing that tackling waste and fraud requires careful planning and team-building.

“The new administration is like a startup,” Musk said. “Now we are getting a greater rhythm, so we need far less time to spend here, and we can primarily focus on running my company.”
