Don't expect a love story from this one.
Elon Musk unleashed enough pure embarrassing energy to launch one million SpaceX rockets to the edge of the galaxy, and in response to Taylor Swift's support for Vice President Kamala Harris on social media Tuesday night, he offered her the chance to have her own child.
“Okay Taylor… you win… I'll give you my kids and I'll fight to the death for your cat.” Elon Musk (53) Post to X This was likely a dig at Swift, 34, who added “kidfree cat lady” to one of her lengthy Instagram posts.
Grammatically speaking, it wasn't immediately clear whether Musk intended to father a child himself, or simply pass on one member of his own large family of 12 people.
“I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz for President in 2024,” the reigning princess of pop posted, alongside a photo of her cuddling her cat.
“I think she is a calm and talented leader, and I believe this country can achieve so much more if it is led with calm rather than chaos.”
Swift's “childless cat-loving women” comment was an apparent jab at controversial comments made by Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance, which were interpreted by many as disparaging toward childfree women.
Musk's post was viewed nearly 50 million times in just a few hours, with thousands of comments slamming him for his bizarre message, which is all the more chilling in the post-MeToo era.
“This tweet takes things to a whole new level of weird. It's not even weird at this point, just disturbing,” wrote one creepy X user.
“Taylor wants absolutely nothing to do with you,” said another.
Naturally, some speculated about how her NFL star boyfriend, Travis Kelce, would feel about such a brazen offer from the richest man in the world.
“Go up to Travis Kelce and tell him that and see what happens,” warned another.
Elon then stepped up his attack, targeting cats and cat lovers: “Toxoplasma gondii is a danger to our democracy,” he said, referring to a parasite commonly found in cats' digestive tracts that can also infect the human brain.
Referencing the parasite has become a common, informal shorthand for “childless, cat-loving women” online.
