Elon Musk has switched his display name to “Kekius Maximus” from “X.” This change has led to a significant 119% rise in the value of Kekius Maximus Coin.
Kekius Maximus is a meme-inspired cryptocurrency on Ethereum and Solana networks. Just a few days ago, Musk had altered his name to “Gorklon Rust,” and after this latest name change, he hasn’t elaborated further on it. The new profile picture shows him in armor, with “Emperor Kekius Maximus” inscribed.
This is Musk’s second name change to Kekius Maximus; he previously did so last December, when he incorporated the famous “Pepe the Frog” meme into his profile, featuring the frog in golden armor holding a video game controller.
After his latest name switch, the Meme Coin saw a jump to approximately $0.005667, marking an impressive increase of 497.56% within 24 hours. However, following the original avatar’s reintroduction, its value plummeted to around $0.001165, illustrating the volatility characteristic of meme-based cryptocurrencies.
What is “Kekius Maximus”?
“Kekius Maximus” refers to a meme-centered cryptocurrency token available on various blockchains, notably Ethereum and Solana. It’s gaining traction among investors and enthusiasts in the crypto space.
The term “Cecchius” seems to be a Latin take on “Cec,” relating loosely to “laughter,” which has connections to gaming culture and sometimes the alt-right. Additionally, “Kek” draws from ancient Egyptian mythology, symbolizing a god often depicted with frog imagery.
Many connect “Maximus” to Russell Crowe’s character from the movie “Gladiator,” Maximus Desimus Meridius. The rationale behind Musk’s name changes and their implications for cryptocurrency remains somewhat ambiguous.
Kusk’s Earlier Name Change to “Grokron Last”
This isn’t Musk’s first name change on the platform. Earlier this month, he went by “Gorklon Rust,” with an updated profile picture to match.
Social media interpretations suggest this name blends “Grok,” an AI chatbot from Musk’s AI firm Xai, with “Rust,” which pertains to the programming language integral to the company’s operations.
Upon changing to “Gokron Last,” Golk’s cryptocurrency saw a near 100% increase—trading at around Rs 2.62 before climbing to Rs 5.24 post-change.
